This book is a great introduction to five approaches to experiential education: just enough to understand the basics and get a sense of how they work so you can decide if you want to invest the time to learn more. Each chapter contains a broad overview, history of the approach, research on the approach and how to use the method. The research sections were often least helpful, as the presented findings were not compelling and not enough information was given to judge the validity of the studies’ conclusions. However, the overviews and how to use sections were quite enlightening as an introduction to the method. Each chapter ends with a list of resources if you decide you would like to explore the method further. Recommended. - Sharon Flicker
